SICAT ENDO

What is required for the 2D/3D integration in SICAT Endo?
  • Dentsply Sirona 3D X-ray system
  • Dentsply Sirona Schick33 sensor images
  • SICAT Endo Software

This feature cannot be used with phosphor plate technology and with other intraoral X-ray devices.

Is the use of 2D/3D integration mandatory for treatment planning in SICAT Endo?

No, only a 3D dataset is mandatory for the planning of guided root canal access. The integration of 2D images is a valuable option which simplifies diagnostics. For all those who are used to work in 2D, it is an easy tool to quickly learn how to use 3D as well.

Can I use eccentric IO images for the 2D/3D integration?

No, the matching algorithm of SICAT Endo needs orthogonal images to ensure the best matching results.

Can I match optical impression other than CEREC?

Yes, within the SICAT SUITE 1.4 STL, SSI and SIXD files can be matched.

What do I do if I don’t have an optical camera or scanner?

Alternatively, you can send stone models to SICAT. This option can be chosen in the order wizard.

Is it possible to visualize endodontic files in SICAT Endo?

No, files are not shown, but the curvature and length of the root canals is clearly displayed and visualized.

Is it possible to create a report?

Yes, screenshots and annotations can be summarized and exported as PDF.

Which kind of drills can be ordered at SICAT?

SICAT works with drills from Meisinger. The Meisinger drills have a diameter of 1.2mm and are available with a length of 16mm and 24mm.

Is it possible to order the Meisinger drills directly in the software?

Yes. When ordering the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE, you can directly select drills and add them to your order. A larger quantity of drills can be ordered separately in the SICAT Store. For the RAPID ACCESSGUIDE, too, the drill is ordered separately via the SICAT Store.

ACCESSGUIDE

Can I use one guide for multiple canals in one tooth?

No, SICAT will send you multiple guides and will only charge $30 for each additional guide for the same tooth.

How much is a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE?

One guide is $175 including one sleeve. For each additional guide for the same tooth SICAT will charge $30.

Can I use a rubber dam during the guided treatment?

Yes, this is possible. Please check the Instructions for use of SICAT ACCESSGUIDE for further details which you can download in the download area.

Can I use the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE in combination with my files?

No, the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE is used for the minimal-invasive preparation of the root canal access.

Can I mill or print the guide in my office?

Yes, if you select RAPID ACCESSGUIDE during the order process in the SICAT Portal, you will receive a ready-to-print STL surgical guide design. Matching sleeves can be purchased from the SICAT Store.

Can I use the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE in the molar region?

This depends on the mouth opening of the patient and should be checked individually for each patient before ordering a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE.

How accurate is the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE?

SICAT guarantees and documents production accuracy of less than 500 µm at the end of your planned drill path, for every fabricated SICAT ACCESSGUIDE.

Is it possible to sterilize the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE?

A steam sterilization (autoclav) of the SICAT ACCESSGUIDE is not possible. Please check the Instructions for use of SICAT ACCESSGUIDE on how to handle the guide. You can download the instructions in the download area.

Is it possible to plan a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE in Galileos Implant?

No, the only software to plan and order a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE is SICAT Endo.

How long is the production time of a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE?

The maximum production time for a SICAT ACCESSGUIDE is 6 working days, starting from the date SICAT receives all information and materials required.

RAPID ACCESSGUIDE

What are the delivery items?

The delivery items are:
One or more STL files (depending on the number of drill canals) of your RAPID ACCESSGUIDE design ready for 3D printing.

Why do I receive one STL file per drill canal?

If you plan several drill canals for one tooth, one STL file is generated for each drill canal to save space.

Which technical prerequisites are mandatory for a SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE?

To be able to order a SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE you need SICAT Endo V1.4 or higher.

What do I need to consider in advance so that a SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE can be generated?

In addition to your drill canal planning, you must accurately match an error-free optical impression covering ¾ of the arch to the CBCT scan for optimal results.

Error free means:
• There must be no distortions or voids.
• Artifacts such as spikes, elevations or strange model sockets must be avoided.

Please check the matching of the optical impressions with the CBCT image carefully as insufficient matching will result in deviations from your plan.

What type of indications are supported by the SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE?

You can order a SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE, for cases
• where an accurate matching between optical scan and CBCT can be achieved
• with 4 or more remaining teeth.

What type of indications are explicitly not supported by the SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE?

Ordering the SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE is not possible for cases with less than four remaining teeth.

Can I plan sleeves that are not available in SICAT Endo?

No, currently you can only plan with the sleeves available in your software. They can be purchased via the SICAT Store.

Where do I get the guide sleeves from?

You can purchase the sleeves directly from the SICAT Store.

What can I do if the fit of the guide sleeve is too loose or too tight?

In case the guide sleeve dimension does not correspond to the dimension of the hole in the surgical guide, please proceed as follows:

Please adjust the printer offsets up or down during the order process to achieve the proper result. If necessary, also use the available SICAT Offset reference bodies. Find more information here.

How and when will I be informed if the SICAT RAPID ACCESSGUIDE has been successfully designed?

After the order process, you will first receive an e-mail confirmation that your data has been uploaded to the SICAT Portal. After approx. 10 – 20 min. you will receive another e-mail either informing you that your digital ACCESSGUIDE model is available for download or that an automatic design process is not possible in this particular case.

What can I do if I do not receive an e-mail notification?

If it happens that you do not receive an e-mail notification, please make sure that you have opened the correct email inbox and check both the spam folder in your e-mail inbox and the case status in the SICAT Portal under “Orders”. If you need further assistance, please contact the SICAT surgical guide support.

Is it possible to refuse a digital design?

If the digital design for your guide does not meet your requirements, please let us know within 7 days by replying to the email notification, stating the reason for rejecting. Your account will not be charged for this case.
